Last September 2017 I decided to open a law firm marketing and communications agency. It was not an easy decision. In fact, it was a very scary one!
I was in two minds between looking for a new full-time job and starting out on my own.
For the past 10 years I had worked for great companies. I held various Sales and Marketing positions in the UK’s Publishing Industry. I worked with the Latin American co-publishing team and in global readership development at one of the most prestigious legal publishers in London. I also spent years in educational publishing and one of the largest UK consumer media groups where she worked in International Sales for Latin America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.
Make it happen
I could have carried on as an employee, but somehow, I was curious to see how far I could get leading an agency.
I felt there was a market for my services. After much thinking, I decided to take the plunge and start Top of the List, a communications agency assisting firms and lawyers with their communication work. Legal directories, marketing strategy, social media management, content writing you name it! Anything to increase the visibility of law firms using modern media forms.
I am pleased to say that so far so good. We have had a handful of clients, some of them have returned for a second or third project. It is still daunting and at times scary but I am optimistic and working hard to make it happen.
